Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Jessy Lanza, Tanika Charles, iskwē, Carly Rae Jepsen

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Jul 28, 2023

Anyone else feeling a little extra chaotic today? Maybe I've listened to the odd couple of Purity Ring and Black Dresses joining forces for "shines" one too many times... which reminds me: it's time for another round-up of the week's best new Canadian music!

And plenty more of that is "Sure to Come," according to the clairvoyant iskwē. This week in album releases, we have the latest from Jessy Lanza (Love Hallucination) and Carly Rae Jepsen's highly anticipated The Loneliest Time B-sides collection. There are also new EPs from Tanika Charles and Bells Larsen.

Elsewhere, Jesus and Julius Caesar-twinning Drake's strangely good freestyle arrives on streaming, and Evangeline Gentle's Barbie is into bad girls. Busty and the Bass are taking their "Wandering Lies" on tour — perhaps even to Excuse Me.'s "The Coast"? To the flame, we must follow Prince Josh's "Moth."

Embrace the journey with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
