Alanis Morissette Unveils Meditation Album with Darkside's Dave Harrington

"Meditating rests my interior, to the point where I can have access to ideas and visions and inspirations"

Alanis Morissette is going to help us find our stillness: the national treasure has announced the release of her first meditation album.

A collaboration with Dave Harrington of Darkside, the storm before the calm is due June 17. It follows Morissette's 2020 album Such Pretty Forks in the Road, as well as standalone single "olive branch" from earlier this year.

The 11-track LP of meditative soundscapes will be available on all digital streaming platforms, as well as the Calm app. Today, the singer-songwriter previews the effort with the 11-minute journey of "safety—empath in paradise."

"Meditating rests my interior, to the point where I can have access to ideas and visions and inspirations — I can hear my own capital-S Self," Morissette said in a release. "Music, for me, is like a portal in a way; an invitation into a state of being that I'm not normally in. Making the record kept me super connected and accountable during COVID, when I felt like I was just going to disappear and float away."

This summer, the CanCon legend will (finally) embark on a Jagged Little Pill anniversary tour of her home country.
