Andrew Stockdale is best known for taking the stage as the frontman for Australian hard rockers Wolfmother. Earlier this week, however, he fronted a different band in some strange circumstances when he forced his way onstage with a Beatles cover band.
NME points to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald, who report that Stockdale was hanging out at the Archive Bar near his home in Brisbane, Australia, watching a local Beatles cover band perform. According to the newspaper, Stockdale soon forced his way onstage to perform a drunken, expletive-filled cover of "Let It Be." The LOL-inducing clip can be seen below.
Forcibly removed from the stage, Stockdale apparently got in a fight with bouncers before being told to leave the venue. The singer refused, instead sitting in the middle of the floor. Eventually, police arrived and arrested him. He spent the night in jail and was fined $350 earlier today (July 22).
Of the incident, Stockdale representative Noel Barbi said, "Mr. Stockdale simply had too much to drink."
