As Ty Segall's new band Fuzz plot their debut album, the insanely prolific garage rocker is also preparing to release a new LP of his own. Sleeper is out on August 20 through Drag City.
Segall announced the record with a short 37-second teaser clip. It shows the songwriter snoozing in various locations — on his front steps, up a tree, at the wheel of a van — and includes a clip of slow, acoustic music. Judging by the lyrics, we're guessing that this is the title track.
We currently don't know much more than that, but we can expect details like tracklist, album cover and lead single to emerge in the coming weeks and months. This record is credited to Ty Segall alone, rather than to his Ty Segall Band or to a collaborative partnership.
Assuming that the previously hinted at Fuzz record comes to pass, now Segall only needs one more album to match his 2012 total of three.
