Disclosure and AlunaGeorge Accused of Using Someone Else's Lyrics in New Lawsuit

Katie Farrah Sopher, a singer-songwriter in the UK, has claimed that she wrote the lyrics for songs from Disclosure and AlunaGeorge. She is seeking £200,000 ($360,000 Canadian) in a lawsuit.

As the Daily Mail reports, Sopher claims that the lyrics for Disclosure's "Latch," "White Noise" and "You and Me," along with AlunaGeorge's "Attracting Flies," were taken from a notebook of hers.

In a statement, Sopher explains that a "violent" ex-boyfriend named Sean Sawyers stole her notebook and sold it to music industry contacts.

In his defence statement, Sawyers said, "I am denying all the allegations... There is zero truth to the claims made against me. I never saw the book the claimant mentions... [so] I could not have committed the alleged damages, theft, (and) copyright infringement."

Neither Disclosure nor AlunaGeorge have responded to the allegations.
