Kevin Spacey Settles Sexual Assault Lawsuit with Deceased Accuser's Estate

Following the death of an anonymous alleged victim, Kevin Spacey has settled a sexual assault suit with the accuser's estate.

As previously reported, the accuser was a massage therapist who claimed Spacey forced him to touch his genitals during a spa treatment in 2016 and then later tried to kiss him. A trial was set to begin in U.S. federal court in June 2020, but the accuser died in September.

Spacey denied all allegations against him.

As Variety reports, the late accuser's estate filed a notice dismissing the lawsuit on Monday (December 30). Each side agreed to pay their own costs, though the details of the settlement were not disclosed.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had investigated the claims against Spacey, but prosecutors announced earlier this year that the charges against the actor would be dropped.

In July, Massachusetts prosecutors also dropped another criminal case against Spacey. That case was filed after an 18-year-old man alleged the actor groped him at at a bar in Nantucket in 2016.
