Sufjan Stevens's long-awaited follow-up to Carrie & Lowell and eighth full-length solo record, The Ascension, is finally here via Asthmatic Kitty, and today, you can listen to the album in full here at Exclaim!

After releasing its lead single, a 12-minute epic titled "America" and its B-side, the 10-minute "My Rajneesh," back in July, and later sharing music videos for "Video Game" and "Sugar," Stevens has returned with a gargantuan new record touting one of his longest-ever runtimes.

Recently, we spoke with Stevens about the new "editorial pop" album, which he says he recorded "to disassociate and ascend away from myself and the world, the corruption and crisis and chaos around me to make better sense of it."

Featuring contributions by Casey Foubert and James McAlister, the National's Bryce Dessner and Emil Nikolaisen, the 15-track record was mastered by TW Walsh. All songs were performed, recorded, engineered, mixed and produced by Stevens.
