Unintentional Rickroll king Rick Astley is celebrating 35 years of "Never Gonna Give You Up" by recreating its iconic music 1987 video (let's pretend we do not see that it's for a commercial and just enjoy it).
"Paying homage to my video for the AAA Insurance commercial — from the set to the wardrobe — has been an amazing trip down memory lane," said Astley, refusing to let us forget this is an ad. "The song has been so good to me, and I'm thrilled to be working with another iconic brand that has certainly stood the test of time."
The clip (directed by Joseph Kahn) might not measure up all the way up to the billion-times-viewed original, but it's at least slightly less creepy than the AI-remastered version.
