Jim Carrey Is Leaving Twitter Too

But first, here's a cartoon!

One of the Canadians banned from Russia is banishing himself from the bird app: Jim Carrey has announced that he'll be joining the Elon Musk-takeover era Twitter exodus.

"I'm leaving Twitter," Carrey tweeted yesterday (November 29), definitely not burying the lede. He then continued on to share a cartoon he made in collaboration with Jimmy Hayward. "It's based on my painting of a crazy old Lighthouse Keeper, standing naked in a storm, summoning the angels and shining his lamp to guide us through a treacherous night," the actor explained.

The attached clip is just over a minute long, and shows a Redbeard-looking fellow with an Irish accent singing something of a sea shanty in front of his lighthouse as the storm rages on. He then descends into a fit of (evil?) laughter. What a fitting farewell!

Last week, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor shared that he would no longer be using the social media platform, citing the "arrogance of the billionaire class." Jack White's Third Man Records is also among the departed, alongside the likes of Liz Phair, Whoopi Goldberg and Toni Braxton.
