Margaret Atwood and actor Katheryn Winnick are also on the list

Jim Carrey has recently said he's retiring from acting — but any retirement travel plans won't include Russia, since he's just been banned from the country.

Carry is among 100 Canadians newly banned by Russia. The list, posted on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation's website, also includes author Margaret Atwood, Vikings/Bones actor Katheryn Winnick, Alberta premier Danielle Smith, Steam Whistle Brewing COO Taras Hetmanczuk and more. They join a list of many more previously banned from the country.

The list is mostly made up of journalists or people involved in organizations supporting Ukraine against the Russian invasion.

These Canadians were banned partly in response to sanctions imposed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau against Russia.
