The Week in Comments: Exclaim!'s Reader Feedback Roundup with Alexisonfire, Insane Clown Posse, Ladyhawk
Published Aug 15, 2012It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for Exclaim!'s weekly Reader Feedback Roundup. If you're looking to get caught up on the music-related stories that had people talking over the past few days, then you came to the right place.
First, beloved Canadian screamers Alexisonfire announced the dates for their final farewell tour coming up this winter. Many of our Facebook fans were excited about the news, but some complained about the venue choices and that the band won't be stopping in their neck of the woods. "Fuck that fuck that no winnipeg?!?!?!?" said Zac Houston, while Jeremie James simply asked, "Vancouver?" Craig Laro responded to some of the haters saying, "I've never seen so much complaining.....simply don't go," and Gillian Laura added, "Don't want to go? awesome! more space for me to enjoy!"
Next, we reported on Insane Clown Posse looking to sue the FBI after the organization classified juggalos as a gang, and although some readers replied with serious insights, most took the opportunity to crack ICP jokes. "More like INANE clown posse ha ha am i right guys," said Dink Cheney, followed by Hugh s. Brenda saying, "They are a gang... gang o' morons that is..." On Twitter, @therewasnosound retweeted the story and said, "It's a way of life, man."
Then there was the news of Ladyhawk's first album in four years, No Can Do, which is scheduled to come out October 9 on Triple Crown Audio Recordings. Facebook user Travis Off said, "I went to every show Ladyhawk have played in S'toon...then they just stopped. I was hella-bummed for awhile. Now...not so much." Back at the Exclaim.ca comments section, Guy posted, "THIS IS THE GREATEST NEWS," and JimJim said, "Beyond amazing cover art! Good one guys." But Calgary didn't quite seem to get it, saying, "I was just thinking how fucking stupid the album art looks. Am I missing something here?"
Finally, we've had lots of great album streams in the Music/Video section of our website such as the new release from Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Mature Themes, and Corb Lund's Cabin Fever. "First impression: 'wat'" tweeted @NatashaMTL about the Ariel Pink record. Meanwhile, Chalmsey said the Lund release is "Badass," and Jack also said, "This makes me not ashamed to be an Albertan."
