Waterdown

The Files You Have On Me

BY Jasamine White-GluzPublished Jan 1, 2006

Most hardcore kids know Waterdown as that German band that manages to sound just about like every other American melodic hardcore band out there right now. You’ve got your pretty yet heavy guitar riffs, your combination of singing/screaming with bits of rap here and there, and typical hardcore breakdowns. In a country that is swimming with screamo bands, Waterdown doesn’t have anything original to offer except for their hometowns. That aside, the band’s latest release The Files You Have On Me isn’t bad. It’s a solid piece of work with some great highlights, like the infectiously poppy track "Nails All Broken Short.” They won’t stand out from a crowd, but they will give you a disc worth of slam dance worthy tracks.
