Yes, Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson's six-hour Beatles documentary is a real thing that's happening and not a MadLibs sentence. Following the teaser trailer that dropped last December, Disney+ has released a full-length trailer for The Beatles: Get Back — a three-part series of two-hour instalments chronicling the band's final live performance in 1969.
Pieced together from nearly 60 hours of unseen video from 21 days with director Michael Lindsay-Hogg (The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus) dating back to '69, the documentary offers an intimate look into the Beatles' creative process as they're tasked with trying to write 14 new songs in less than three weeks before delivering their first concert in three years.
"The best bit of us — always has been and always will be — is when we're backs against the wall and all we've got is us," Paul McCartney says in the trailer.
We'll get to see how some of the band's most iconic compositions somehow managed to come together in this pressure-cooker of circumstance. In addition to the challenging deadline's drama and strain on their relationships, Get Back features footage of the Beatles' historic last rooftop concert on London's Savile Row for the first time in its entirety.
Watch the Get Back trailer below ahead of its three-day premiere on the streaming platform this November 25, 26 and 27.
Once again, McCartney recently claimed that John Lennon was the one who broke up the band. The remixed, expanded reissue of Let It Be — the final record released by the Fab Four — is available this Friday (October 15).
