Voyeurs

The Voyeurs

BY Rob NayPublished Jun 1, 2005

Featuring Brian Henry Hooper, formerly of Kim Salmon and the Surrealists, the Voyeurs play a form of subtle music that draws on wide influences. Blending lounge, blues and soul, the Voyeurs write restrained songs with a solid focus. Backed by ex-members of Luxedo, and current musicians from the Devastations, Hooper shows talent as a vocalist, shifting from falsettos to lower register growls with ease. Throughout their self-titled disc, the Australian band convey an ability to take varied influences and combine them into a sound that is distinctively their own.
