After premiering the new tune "Smile" hrough Zane Lowe's Beats 1 program, the entire EP showed up on Apple Music. Right now, you can give it an early listen below.
As for "Smile," it finds Staples describing his dangerous life above a freakily fuzzed-out guitar hook that sounds like it could have come from a Black Keys album. The track baps into action with hard smacked snares and staccato string hits, while Staples waxes on turning his back on family and friends, and looking for a brighter day.
