Rock Against Bush Vol. 2

BY Stuart GreenPublished Sep 1, 2004

On the heels of the tremendous success of the first volume of this cause-compilation comes a second one that may top its predecessor in both form and content. Featuring 20 tracks (most rare or unreleased) from bands both mainstream (Green Day, No Doubt and Foo Fighters), not so well-known (Only Crime, Dillinger Four) and in between (Lagwagon, Rancid, Hot Water Music, Yellowcard and many more), plus a DVD with political comedy from Will Ferrell and myriad mini-documentaries, this collection is an election-year public service must for Americans. You kind of have to wonder if all this Bush-bashing by the fine folks at Fat Wreck Chords and other political organisations is ever going to hit a critical mass; you know, the point where there just isn’t anything new to add to the cause. Then again, given the wealth of material they’ve got to work with, how could that possibly happen?
