History Of Portland Punk - Volume One

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

This is an interesting reissue that compiles punk rock singles released by Portland, Oregon's Trap Records, circa 1979. All the material was produced by Wipers front-man Greg Sage. The Wipers were one of the big influences on much of the punk and hardcore that came out of the Northwest in the '80s, and is arguably the seed that grew into the grunge explosion. Besides the five Wipers tracks, this contains songs by Sado Nation, the Neoboys, Napalm Beach, the Bop Zombies and others. With 29 songs in all, this will give anyone interested in obscure punk a good hour's worth of listening.
