With devil-locked punk icons the Misfits having issued their thrash-flavoured Earth A.D. album nearly 30 years ago, a group of younger punk, hardcore and metal bands have united to toss a fresh coat of paint on the creepy collection for a freebie LP through CVLT Nation.
Fittingly dubbed Earth A.D.: The CVLT Nation Sessions, the tribute features all nine songs blasted out by the likes of Baptists, who salute a legacy of brutality with their bashed-out "Bloodfeast," Kata Sarka, We Are the Damned, Flesh Temple, Xaphan and more.
Moscow, ID metal crew Dislich, performing here as Disfits, pull double duty by tackling both Earth A.D.'s "Hellhound" and a bonus track for Fiend Club followers, "Die, Die My Darling."
The beats are still furious, but the evil Elvis-style croon of Glenn Danzig is mostly scrubbed in favour of shouts and shrieks. Regardless, you can catch a mean case of demonomania by streaming the covers set down below.
