Ok, the bottom line is you should never have to hear Bing Crosby, Dean Martin or Mel Tormé sing crusty old "malled-out" Christmas songs again. But, if you need to hear "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells" and "The First Noel" to get in to the festive spirit, and want something other than the vanilla originals, this disc may be for you. Remixers Dan the Automator, Mocean Worker and others have given the turntable and Pro Tools treatment to 12 of your jolly Yuletide faves. Big ass drum & bass, record scratches and vocal cut and pastes sum up most of the studio surgery, with a few tracks going so far as to only keep the original vocal and replace everything underneath. It's good for a laugh, especially when you're well lubed with rum eggnog. And really, of course it's a novelty record — it's Christmas music!
