Vampire Weekend 'Ya Hey' (lyric video)
Vampire Weekend are nearing the May 14 release of their Modern Vampires of the City LP on XL, but peeps are already celebrating the indie-pop band's forthcoming record in the bottle-poppin' clip for "Ya Hey."

While billed as a lyric video, it's kind of hard to follow along to the texty visuals when you see the band or a multi-generational crew in makeshift togas spraying champagne suds all over the screen. From what we gather, though, the low-key bounce of "Ya Hey" acts an outsider anthem of sorts for those of us who feel like we just don't fit in, with Ezra Koenig chiming in: "Oh, the motherland don't love you / The fatherland don't love you / So why love anything?" But, hey, who needs love when you've got champagne!

As previously reported, Vampire Weekend hit up Europe and North America with tour dates this month, including a stop at Toronto's Sony Centre on the May 16. You can check out the details here.
