UUBBUURRUU

"Dear God" (video)

Psychedelic unit UUBBUURRUU will be taking the stage at Distorsion's inaugural festival in their hometown of Montreal this spring, and in anticipation of the upcoming appearance, Exclaim! has got your exclusive first look at the band's new video for "Dear God."

The track appears on UUBBUURRUU's latest EP Cosmic Cannibalism, which hears the five-piece toying with "liquid-like guitar sounds and blurry vocal experimentation" amidst blasts of powerful riffs and bombastic beats. "Dear God" perfectly embodies that sound, and now the track has been given some visual accompaniment.

"Jean-Marc Drouet and Joey Napoleon are by no means, traditional film directors, using weird telekinesis methods to achieve impossible camera angles and mind boggling practical mirror effects," the band tells Exclaim! "As for the concept, it was proposed to the band by a sign talking chimpanzee and was suppose to include more levitation scenes, but the proper alchemical ingredients are scarce these days with the price of helium literally going through the roof."

You can see what they made do with by watching the crazy, colourful clip in the player below.

The first edition of Distorsion will take place at Matahari Loft in Montreal (1673 Mont-Royal East) from May 12 to 15.
