The Urge operates just as a semi-high performance vehicle that is suited for those in the economy bracket. It's function is to provide a look, a tease, a taste of power, yet there is something missing - a "feel." While they write clever, fast-paced, feel good pop rock with a twist of ska and an overdrive of a unison chorus, one can't help but get the feeling that this album is far too much of being a product under the regime of a "machine." An analogy to the likes of the Barenaked Ladies' playfulness would not be far off to proclaim, but at least they do it harder.
