Update: Black Dahlia Murder Deem Marilyn Manson Attack a Hoax

BY Josiah HughesPublished Aug 19, 2009

Though it was a juicy bit of gossip when we first posted it, word has come that Marilyn Manson's alleged freak-out on Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad is a hoax.

In case you missed it, we reported that Strnad quoted some Manson lyrics while joking around the aging shock rocker, and Manson lost his shit. Apparently, he told Strnad he was going to "rape" his face, then swung at him, according to various reports.

The reality is that the whole thing was a put-on. According to Lambgoat, it wasn't even Strnad who saw Manson in person, but a different member of the band. "Manson most likely didn't hear a word I said," a member of the band told the website. "We never even saw each other. You may just wanna take [the news item] down, since it's just an elephant of a story."

Perhaps the saddest part of this whole thing is how believable it seemed, thanks to Manson's recent outbursts.
