AIDS-fighting organization (RED) held a charity event at Sotheby's in New York this Saturday (November 23), and Irish arena kings U2 helped make the night special by performing a few unexpected covers.

Technically, this isn't a proper U2 performance. Rather, Bono and the Edge played as part of a large ensemble to perform Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," with Nile Rodgers himself on guitar. The same crew also covered David Bowie's "Let's Dance," and Bono duetted with Coldplay's Chris Martin on a hushed version of Lou Reed's "Perfect Day."
