TT the Artist commanded the room throughout her empowering set at Theatre Junction Grand last night (June 24). The turnout was relatively slim as TT took the stage, but her enthusiasm and crowd interactions got everyone involved, dancing to her infectious tracks. TT rapped to track, scarcely taking a breather through her 45-minute set, which focused on material from 2015's Art Royalty.

"I Dig" featured a relentless beat, while numerous memorable lyrics were heard in "Pussy Ate" and "Queen." "Don't call me a bitch, you call me a queen," she commanded, getting the audience to join in the mantra. The cheek of "Pussy Ate" got the crowd going, TT repeating: "Don't want no car, don't want no cash, don't want no date — I just want my pussy ate."

Getting women from the front to come up onstage and dance with her, TT put the emphasis on twerking (which gave this writer flashbacks of being pulled up onstage by fellow bounce artist Big Freedia's dancers). TT the Artist's music is definitely better suited to a small, packed club than a theatre, but she still brought a high-energy set that engaged the bigger crowd.
