Love Wagon have been sharing their feel-good funk vibes around Toronto for years, but brand new single "Dontchu Know" adds some timely emotional weight to the mix.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Parliament-Funkadelic and Chic, the track takes calm strides through a series of jammy grooves before wrapping things up with a tight disco kick. With lyrics like "I don't know what I'm doing, time keeps on moving but I know that I want to live," existential dread has never sounded so funky.
Says songwriter and saxophonist John Abou Chacra, "We're constantly looking for happiness or some sort of gratification as if it's somewhere out there waiting for us. This song is a personal reminder to look for true happiness inside myself, even if I'm not so good at it."
