Experts — the space rock duo of Mimico's Ben Oginz and Mike Duffield of Beams — are celebrating the upcoming solar eclipse by releasing a record. The Eclipse Gateway will arrive Monday (April 8).
The band began recording the album on the day of the last North American solar eclipse, August 21, 2017. "What was intended to capture a brief moment in time ended up capturing a period where both the creators' lives and the world at large became vastly different places than where the project began," the band said via press release.
What began as three hours of improvised material turned into The Eclipse Gateway after Experts entered the studio with Mike Gamble, composing the record in post-production.
The album will be available via the band's Bandcamp.
