TOPS' no-distortion lounge-pop was the perfect complement to the free beers Arbutus was offering up during their free afternoon showcase. The band have become a minor hit for their melody-centric, disco-inflected songwriting, and invited attendees to crowd in close for a set that leaned heavily on last year's Tender Opposites. Singer Jade Penny's laugh could be heard throughout the set as she bantered with her bandmates and the crowd, but it was set highlights like "Evening" and "She's So Bad" that kept the crowd moving and the mood vibrant.
