Tierra Whack is channelling Stanley Kubrick with her imaginative video for "Link," a colourful new child-friendly project created in partnership with LEGO, of all things.
Despite its corporate ties, the song and video are actually pretty cool. Whack teamed with director Cat Solen and a group of youngsters to brainstorm ideas for the project, and if you listen closely, you can hear some of the kids' voices dubbed in for cinematic sound effects.
Halfway through the video, you can also catch a visual reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey. The "Link" video is part of LEGO's Rebuild the World campaign.
"I was so excited to work with kids because their energy is fun, exhilarating, neverending, and full of surprises," Whack said in a statement. "I really trusted them, and I knew they were going to come up with something great."
Whack's new song follows "feel good" and "Peppers and Onions," both of which were released back in November. The artist's most recent album was 2018's Whack World.
