Third Victim of SXSW Car Crash Dies
Last week, SXSW took a tragic turn when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the crowd, killing two and injuring almost two dozen more. Now, tragically, another victim has passed away as a result of the crash.

The Austin American-Statesman [via Pitchfork] reports that a woman named Sandy Le, who had been in the hospital in critical condition, has passed away. She is the third person to die following the crash, which took place in the early hours of March 13.

Local resident Jamie Ranae West, 27, and Netherlands visitor Steven Craenmehr, 35, also died in the crash.

Suspected driver Rashad Owens has been charged with capital murder, which can potentially result in the death penalty in Texas. According to reports, police attempted to pull Owens over and he drove away down a one-way street. He broke through a police barricade and hit various vehicles and pedestrians before attempting to flee his car on foot and eventually getting tasered.

The 21-year-old Owens, from Killeen, TX, is an an aspiring hip-hop musician known as KillingAllBeatz, or K.A.B254. He was to perform at SXSW and has a handful of previous charges to his name.

Six victims of the incident remain in hospital.
