Saskatchewan-based garage rockers the Steves are ready to share a brand new video for a pair of freshly recorded tracks, and Exclaim! has your first look at it.
"FaceOff" and "Garage" both appeared on the band's self-recorded No Solos EP last year, but have since been redone with Orion Paradis at Soulsound Studios in Regina — achieving a "much louder and chaotic sound" than on the original release. The two songs have now been matched up and given the visual treatment by the band's Piper Burns and filmmaker Sunny Adams.
As the song's title implies, the first part of clip pays homage to the classic John Travolta and Nicolas Cage flick Face/Off, but when that film gets popped into the VCR things take an incredibly trippy turn. Flashing lights, doll parts and furry fabrics invite the viewer into a super psychedelic sensory experience. The visuals for the latter track also take a rather literal approach, depicting the band setting up shop and rocking out in, well, a garage.
The Steves are currently cooking up a debut full-length album set for release later this year, but in the meantime, check out the video premiere of "FaceOff" and "Garage" in the player below. Scroll past the group's upcoming video release tour dates to give it a watch.
Tour dates:
02/18 Winnipeg, MB - Handsome Daughter
02/19 Regina, SK - The Mercury
02/20 Saskatoon, SK - Vangeli's
