If you've ever sat on the couch on a Sunday afternoon wishing your tattered football tee also reflected your love for deep EDM drops, bro-country or screamo, have we got some news for you. The NFL has announced a T-shirt line that finds Diplo, Underoath, Mac Miller and more repping their favourite football squads.
The collaboration comes through custom T-shirt company Teespring, which is offering a number of shirts sporting team logos and band names. Each item finds an artist representing their hometown team.
Some of these are no-brainers, like vocal Pittsburgh Steelers fan Mac Miller having his name emblazoned in black and yellow above a toddler in a team uniform. 8 Mile native Eminem also gets attached to his hometown Detroit Lions, though his name only appears in tiny print on a sleeve. While Diplo travels the globe, he's now officially attached to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Craftily, a repurposed illustration of Jason Mraz's 2008 LP We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. has a pair of lightning bolts painted onto his hat so he can rally behind the San Diego Chargers. The New York Jets, meanwhile, have their name printed out in Kiss's familiar jagged typeface.
Other designs are a bit more suspect, with an Underoath/Tampa Bay Buccaneers collab preferring to showcase the band's logo over the NFL team's crest, which gets relegated to sleeve-style side-status. Wale may have the most collar-tugging entry of the bunch, with his name now associated with the controversial Washington Redskins logo.
Perhaps the most confusing of all is the shirt for American bro-country duo Florida Georgia Line, whose align themselves with the Tennessee Titans.
The line also offers shirts for rap acts YG and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, classic rockers like ZZ Top and Melissa Etheridge, pop stars like Fergie, and wild cards like Fall Out Boy and OneRepublic.
While extensive, not all of the NFL's teams participated in the promotion. Holdouts include the Oakland Raiders, the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys.
You'll find the full list of participants down below, and all the designs over here.
