Attention all festival organisers, promoters, volunteers and musicians! Summer is sneaking up, and with it comes the 5th Annual Exclaim! Summer Music Festival Guide, which will be in our May issue. We need your festival info, and we need it now! Please send us every possible detail you have: the festival name, date, location, confirmed artists, events (i.e., workshops, competitions, panels), ticket prices and on sale date, website URL, contact info (email, phone) and a brief description of why your festival is different from the rest in Canada. Canadians Songwriters Represent in Competition
The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has announced the finalists for its 2006 edition. Canada is proudly represented by 30 talented songwriters in the categories of AAA, Americana, Blues, Country, Dance/Electronica, Folk/Singer-Songwriter, Gospel/Christian, Instrumental, Lyrics Only, Performance, Pop/Top 40, R&B/Hip-Hop, Rock, Teen and World Music. Winners will be chosen some time in March by a panel of judges that includes Tom Waits, Brian Wilson, Sean Paul, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rosanne Cash, Robert Smith (the Cure) and Darryl McDaniels (RUN-DMC), among others.
