Montreal-based roots singer-songwriter Li'l Andy will release his new album All the Love Songs Lied to Us at the end of the week, but you can give it an early listen right now.
The record tackles topics often found in classic country, like romance and heartbreak, but it is also about the impact that pop songs can have on our own impressions of what romance and heartbreak looks like.
"This album is about the snare that romance has on our minds and hearts," Li'l Andy tells Exclaim! "Romantic delusions of all kinds. For love, for our relationships, for sex, for war, for the nostalgia of bygone eras, for places that hold a mystery."
That sentiment is evident across the 10 new songs, presented in his signature country-noir sound.
All the Love Songs Lied to Us is officially out September 20 on Sainte Cécile Records, but you can stream it in its entirety right now, below.
Tour dates:
09/14 Ottawa, ON - Marvest Festival
09/21 Quebec City, QC - The Maelstrøm Saint-Roch
09/25 Montreal, QC - La Sala Rossa
10/17 Toronto, ON - Burdock
10/18 Wakefield, QC - The Black Sheep Inn
