Some Radiohead Members Will Attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 2019 induction ceremony is fast approaching, and it seems like some members of Radiohead have come around to the idea of attending the awards show.
Despite claiming it wouldn't be a big deal if they were inducted back in 2017, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has confirmed that several members of Radiohead will attend their induction ceremony.
As reports, organizers have revealed all inductees, except for a few members of Radiohead, are expected to attend the event — meaning at least a couple members of Radiohead will attend.
Frontman Thom Yorke previously said he was unable to attend, as he will be preparing for a piano concert with the Paris Philharmonic.
Back in 2017, guitarist Ed O'Brien cited the band's British-ness as the reason they "don't understand" the self-congratulatory American accolade, and said that he'd "rather be sitting at home in front of the fire or going to a gig" than going to the induction ceremony.
Jonny Greenwood also said he didn't understand the fuss over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and claimed drawing any added attention to the band made him "uncomfortable."
We're guessing Colin Greenwood is probably one of the bandmates attending, as he previously expressed his gratitude at the idea of being inducted.
"I don't know if everyone else will go though," he said in 2017. "It might be me just doing bass versions of everything like, 'Come on, you know this one!' I'd have to play the bass part to 'Creep' five times."
Perhaps Philip Selway will too, as his 2017 response to the possibility of being inducted and attending the ceremony was, "God knows [if we'll go]. We'd have to sit down and talk about it, but it's probably not at the top of my list of things to do. But who knows? I don't know" — which, given the other band members' responses, seems relatively positive.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on March 29.
