Smogtown

Fuhrers of the New Wave

BY Rob FerrazPublished Apr 1, 2000

Another volley in the war to take SoCal punk out of malls and back into the streets. Smogtown's debut, produced by Duane Peters (U.S. Bombs) has that early '80s feel, somewhere in the vein of early Adolescents. Energy fuelled by suburban banality with songs like "Teen Age" and "Ode to Street Violence." You either have to be a teenager or one at heart to appreciate this. If you're jaded and 25 going on 45, you'll hate this, just like your parents hated the stuff you used to listen to.
