The Slip

The Slip is a trio consisting of brothers Brad and Andrew Barr, along with Marc Friedman. Together, they take the Northeast collegiate sound (aka Dave Matthews, Blues Traveller, or any other jam-type band) and make left turns galore. While they are a tad Matthews-esque, they add a few jolts by adding more jazz-oriented sections with a touch of slow-core singing. And producing themselves has obviously ensured that they are a step above the rest, shedding any signs of that hippie Deadness and replacing it with swank and oceanic country jazz pop lounge with miniscule Caribbean sound spicing. As this band grows, so will their inventiveness.
