Sleater-Kinney
Renowned indie rock trio Sleater-Kinney will be hitting the West Coast this week for a show in Vancouver as a part of their stretch of North American tour dates in support of their excellent new album No Cities To Love. Our review of their recent show in Toronto found that the years spent on hiatus have not affected them one bit, as they engaged the crowd with their lively stage presence and powerful delivery.

Volbeat
Danish metal unit Volbeat will be hitting the Great White North this week along with thrash metal gods Anthrax for a string of dates in the Prairies. Waxahatchee
Lo-fi popstress Katie Crutchfield (a.k.a. Waxahatchee) will be playing a show in Vancouver this week as part of her tour in support of her most recent album, Ivy Tripp. Our review of her Toronto performance last year found Crutchfield enthralling the crowd with her fuzzy pop tunes, and sounding as genuine and vulnerable as she does on her recordings.

Shad
Canadian rapper and new host of CBC's radio show 'q,' Shad, will be playing a show in Ottawa this week alongside Zoo Legacy and Jesse Dangerously. You can expect to hear tracks from his most recent EP Boarding Pass as well as his Polaris Music Prize-nominated LP Flying Colours. His 2013 performance in Vancouver found him rapping alongside a live band, delivering his honest, hard-hitting flow with crystal clarity. And with his new gig, he likely won't be touring as much.
