Slash Preps 'World on Fire' Album, Maps Out World Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 28, 2014

While Axl Rose is known for releasing music at a snail's pace, former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash has been far more productive with his recent solo career. His latest album is World on Fire, and it will arrive on September 16 through the axeman's new Dik Hayd International label.

This isn't a full-blown solo effort, but rather a collaboration with bandmates Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The album was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Alter Bridge, Incubus), with work taking place at RG Studios in Los Angeles and Studio Barbarossa in Florida.

It consists of a whopping 17 tracks. One of them is an instrumental, while the bulk are sung by Kennedy. The album-opening title cut will be released to radio on June 13, with the digital single to follow on June 17.

At the bottom of this page, watch an eight-part documentary called Real to Reel about the making of the new album.

Slash and company will be touring through the summer and fall. Much of the North American leg is with Aerosmith, and there are a few Canadian shows. Scroll past the World on Fire tracklist to see the schedule.
