Skeletonwitch Close Out Picture Disc Campaign with 'Beyond the Permafrost' Reissue

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 10, 2014

Though Ohio thrash lords Skeletonwitch haven't put out any new music since serving up Serpents Unleashed in the fall of 2013, the group have been busy in 2014 pressing up the bulk of their back catalogue onto limited edition picture discs. The last to arrive will be sophomore set Beyond the Permafrost.

A press release notes that the picture disc vinyl release for the 2007 LP will be delivered in a limited run of 500 copies, officially hitting retailers November 24. The 12-song set was produced by the late Cory Smoot of Gwar, with Exclaim! having written at the time of release that the "classic thrash" approach would have Skeletonwitch ascending "to the ranks of the thrash gods in the future."

Up above, you'll see the album's original cover art, illustrated by Baroness member John Baizley, while the tracklisting info and a stream of album track "Soul Thrashing Black Sorcery" can be found down below.

The Beyond the Permafrost picture disc repress follows similar treatment recently given to 2009's Breathing the Fire, 2011's Forever Abomination and last year's Serpents Unleashed.

The band recently wrapped up a North American tour with Amon Amarth, but have a couple of upcoming concert dates. The show info can also be seen down below.
