Montreal-based experimental rock quintet Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band (or whatever they might be called right now) have just released their Exclaim!-approved new record, Kollaps Tradixionales. Pared down by two members, the album showcases the band at their most positive, which we called "an invigorating reconstruction of folk and rock idioms with punk spirit."
Besides being an incredible document of the band, one listen to Kollaps Tradixionales will surely have you yearning to see it live. Fortunately, the band will be bringing their message to the masses on a hefty world tour they've planned for the spring.
Kicking off with some dates in the UK, Silver Mt. Zion will spend March and April travelling throughout Europe. Then, in May, they'll cover much of the U.S. and a little bit of Canada on a North American tour, including stops in Toronto and Ottawa. Needless to say, those of us living outside of Ontario are hoping that their booking agent is preparing some more Canadian shows.
