South Carolina folk duo Shovels & Rope have a Canadian deal with Dine Alone Records, and they are promoting their debut album, last year's O' Be Joyful, with a music video for album opener "Birmingham."
The clip for this stomping alt-country number portrays Shovels & Rope as a couple of kids who act well beyond their years. They fix up a truck and hit the road before playing a live show and running into a bit of trouble with their dog. Canine lovers needn't worry, however, since everything is resolved in the end.
This spring, Shovels & Rope will be touring North America with Lucero. Their Canadian dates are below, while the full schedule can be viewed at their website.
Tour dates:
3/26 Toronto, ON - The Phoenix
3/29 Winnipeg, MB - Park Theatre
3/30 Saskatoon, SK - Louis' Pub
3/31 Calgary, AB - The Republik
4/1 Edmonton, AB - Starlite Room
4/3 Vancouver, BC - Club 9one9
