The Shanks have been around for 10 years, and they're celebrating on October 16 with a Roman numerically titled EP called X. Before it's officially out, Exclaim! is premiering a stream of the entire thing.
The six-song set is a bit of a hodgepodge of material from the bass/drums duo. There are a few re-recorded versions of old tracks, and an Ian Blurton remix of the Surfing the Lexicon track "Out of Your Mouth." Blurton also produced the Shanks' cover of the Smiths' "Bigmouth Strikes Again."
There's one entirely new song: "Behind These Bars," a fuzzily riff-fuelled number from the upcoming album Prisons of Ecstasy, which was recently recorded in Sweden.
Hear X below.
