Now that we're in April, summer festival season is starting to take shape. This includes SappyFest, the annual event that takes over Sackville, NB. The sixth instalment of the festival will take place from July 29 to 31, and the organizers have now announced the first batch of performers.
The artists confirmed for the fest so far are the Sadies (pictured) with Jon Langford (of the Mekons/Waco Brothers), Bonjay, Little Scream, Minotaurs, Gobble Gobble and Jerry Granelli. Of course, more acts will be announced in the coming months.
The main stage is in the middle of Sackville, while a press release confirms that other venues will include "an outdoor gazebo, art deco theatre, turn of the century United Church, a Royal Canadian Legion and a roadhouse."
Early bird passes are on sale now from Ticketpro. They will cost you $72.80 after service charges. Some of the shows are in age-restricted venues, so passes are for folks who are over 19.
Tickets for single days and some single shows will go on sale in May. Until then, stay tuned to festival website for updates.
