Continuing on their slew of Canadian tour dates, charismatic pop-rock outfit the Arkells will be hitting the stage again this week. From this Hamilton band, who brought you "My Heart's Always Yours" and the tongue-in-cheek "Drake's Dad," fans can expect to hear more favourites off their 2016 hit album Morning Report on the tour. Joining them will be UK rockers Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls as they open each show.

Remember 1999? Right before the turn of the century, Canadian alt-rock group Matthew Good Band dropped Juno-award winning album Beautiful Midnight. Last year, frontman Matthew Good decided to revisit the album and produce various new versions of the tracks, calling it I Miss New Wave: Beautiful Midnight Revisited. Which brings us to today, where you can catch the singer-songwriter mainstay as he kicks off a Canadian tour this week supporting the LP.

Guelph grassroots organization Hillside present their winter edition, Hillside Inside, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Last year, Montreal shoegazers No Joy announced they would be rolling out a series of EPs. Sticking to their word, No Joy have already debuted a fresh new teaser track off their upcoming EP, CREEP, set for release later this month on Grey Market. Come dance to some complex rhythmic shredders paired with the dreamy vocals of Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd. This week, the band have two Ontario shows, the second of which they'll share with Mimico and Sprawls.

Soulful Londoner Sampha has been wowing with his vocal chops since getting his start in 2009. With a hefty collaboration history — peppered with tracks with Kanye West, Drake and fellow Young Turks label-mate SBTRKT — it comes as no surprise that we aren't the only ones who have kept a keen eye on Sampha and his promising career. In support of his first full-length album, Process, out February 3, Sampha will be gracing the stage this week in both Montreal and Toronto.

SonReal with Clairmont the Second
After dropping his latest EP, The SonReal, the Vancouverite wordsmith of the same name is riding the show circuit for his "No Warm Up" Tour across Canada. Admired for his goofy lyrical persona and catchy hooks, SonReal is performing four shows this week alongside up-and-coming Toronto rapper Clairmont the Second.
