Since late last year, it's been rumoured that Sam Smith would be singing the theme to the upcoming James Bond flick Spectre, and now the UK soul-pop star has confirmed that he will indeed be channelling his inner spy for a new song.

Titled "Writing's on the Wall," it will be released as a single on September 25. It features production from Jimmy Napes and Smith's "Omen" collaborators Disclosure. Following confirmation of the project, the latter revealed their involvement with the song via Twitter.

Spectre hits the big screen worldwide on November 6. It follows Skyfall in the Bond franchise, which garnered Best Original Song trophies at both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes for Adele's power ballad of the same name.
