RVNG Intl.'s FRKWYS series focuses on collaborations between modern musicians and veteran pioneers, and the latest of these pairs Lichens experimenter Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe with veteran French fusionist Ariel Kalma. Having released FRKWYS Vol. 12: We Know Each Other Somehow back in April to rave reviews, these musical allies are preparing to bring their partnership to Vancouver for a live show.
The gig takes place on August 1 at the Ukrainian Hall. The bill also includes Sarah Davachi, a Vancouver electroacoustic soundscaper who recently released her Barons Court LP to much acclaim.
The event is presented by local cassette label 1080p, and tickets can be purchased here for $21.
