In our review of 2011's Mutual Feelings of Love, we noted that Toronto trio Rival Boys were "fierce and on the right path." That path has now led them to sign with MapleMusic Recordings and tinyrecordscanada. It's through those labels that the band will issue their sophomore album, the lower-cased animal instincts, in early 2014.
The album was engineered by Joe Dunphy (Jason Collett, Elliott Brood, Skydiggers) at Revolution Recording Studios in Toronto, with the band handling production duties themselves. The group is fronted by Lee Rose, who plays bass and violin, and features her brother Graeme on guitar and Sam Sholdice on drums.
The exact album release date has yet to be set in stone, but Rival Boys have shared the new single, a cover of Wolf Parade's "I'll Believe in Anything." Stream the song below or watch the band perform the track live. This cover will appear on animal instincts.

Tour dates:
11/12 Toronto, ON - Horseshoe Tavern
11/19 Toronto, ON - The Dakota
11/28 Guelph, ON - Van Gogh's Ear
