It's shaping up to be a busy year for onetime Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. His album Postcards from Paradises is due out on March 31, and he's releasing a new edition of his 2013 book Photograph on September 21. What's more, he's also booked a North American tour for the fall.
The outing will take up the entire month of October, running from the 1st to the 31st. In that time, Ringo Starr and His All-Star Band will play a number of U.S. shows, plus a generous selection of Canadian stops. These include Victoria, Vancouver, Penticton, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Toronto and Montreal.
This is Starr's second Vancouver-area appearance in as many years, but this time he has upgraded from his casino appearance of 2014 to the much more prestigious Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
See the schedule below. Scroll past that to check out the title track from Postcards from Paradises, in addition to the cuts "Not Looking Back" and "Right Side of the Road." The album will arrive through Universal.
As for the new printing of his Photograph book, this so-called Open Edition promises to be more accessible and affordable than the original version of the book in 2013 on Genesis Publications. That one was available in a run of 2,500 and quickly sold out.
Additionally, Ringo will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist on April 18.
