Before R.E.M. release their singles box set 7IN - 83-88 on December 9, they've got a DVD box chronicling their relationship with MTV called REMTV. Due out on November 24, it includes a documentary called R.E.M. by MTV, a five-minute clip of which can be seen now.
This part of the documentary chronicles the band's ill-fated mid-'90s tour behind Monster, in which three of the four members suffered serious health issues: Bill Berry had a brain aneurysm, Mike Mills had surgery for an abdominal adhesion, and Michael Stipe underwent and operation for a hernia.
Pitchfork notes that the full documentary will air tomorrow (November 22) on VH1 Classic and Palladia. Watch the clip below.
